Biking Trails in Southwest Germany

The video, which is around thirty seconds long, is accompanied by typical cycling noises and presents the diverse cycling tours through Baden-Württemberg. From above, we see the two cyclists from the beginning again. The cycle path leads along a wide stream through lush green meadows. You can hear the rustling of the leaves and the gentle flow of the water.

An elderly couple smiles as they ride their trekking bikes through sunny vineyards, a church bell rings in the background. Butterflies make themselves comfortable on a bicycle frame, while two men refresh their legs in a small stream. Only the gentle splashing can be heard in the silence.

The mountain bikes continue on a gravel road through the countryside. You can hear the typical sound of bicycle chains and the gentle twittering of birds. As the cyclists ride past, sheep bleat at the side of the road. The path winds idyllically through the edge of a forest.

On another stretch, cycling is all smiles and smiles. We look down on the majestically situated Lichtenstein Castle from above. Meanwhile, an elderly couple reach a viewing platform on a vineyard and enjoy the view.

On the shores of Lake Constance, a man has settled down on a bench and is enjoying the sunshine and the gentle sound of the water after a bike ride. Two mountain bikers have also reached their destination and are standing on a large rocky outcrop with a view into the depths. The wind blows gently through the leaves.

A hidden gem in Baden-Württemberg is the Kocher-Jagst Cycle Route: 335 km across six stages through unspoilt countryside and charming small towns in Hohenlohe, off the beaten track. The Naturparke Gravel Crossing also takes you on a 690 km journey through four nature parks that many cyclists are not yet familiar with.

Baden-Württemberg is renowned for its ADFC-certified cycle routes, such as the Neckar Valley Cycle Route, which covers 375 km of virtually flat terrain from the source of the Neckar to Mannheim. The Remstal Cycle Route also has much to offer, with its wine culture, half-timbered houses and orchard meadows along the route.

Baden-Württemberg offers 21 long-distance cycle routes, each at least 100 km long and well signposted, making them ideal for multi-day stage tours. Over 500 cycle-friendly accommodation options in the Bett+Bike network ensure that daily stages can be easily linked together.
